A Mississippi boy and his dog were both rescued from the bottom of a well after the boy fell in, looking for his missing pet.
Gabe Allbritton, 4, was walking in his yard with his mother when he disappeared. He had been looking for his pet dog, who had been missing for about a week.
"His mama said they were walking across the yard and he must have heard the dog bark and he turned around and went back and just disappeared," said Lincoln County Civil Defense Director Clifford Galey.
Gabe had fallen into a well that was 18 inches wide and nearly 25 feet deep. His dog was at the bottom. Gabe spent about three hours in the well while emergency workers struggled to rescue him.
Eventually, Gabe and his dog were attached to a rescue rope and pulled to the surface.
