LARGO, Fla. (AP) — Investigators say a Florida mother struck her 2-year-old son in the face, knocking him into a wall hours before she reported him missing.

Largo police arrested 21-year-old Charisse Stinson late Tuesday. She’s charged with first-degree murder in the death of Jordan Belliveau and is being held in the Pinellas County Jail.

The child’s body was found in a wooded area, following an intense search for him that began Sunday morning.

Citing an arrest report, WLFA says that after Jordan suffered seizures and died, Stinson carried him to the woods.

She initially told investigators a different story. She said a stranger named “Antwan” offered them a ride and then knocked her unconscious, leaving her in the woods. She even helped police create a sketch of the mystery man.
