BOSTON (WHDH) - A longtime enemy of the Red Sox is now in the team’s backyard — and many fans are not happy.

ESPN is advertising its new docuseries on Yankees star Derek Jeter with a large billboard right outside Fenway Park, where fans said he did not belong.

“Let’s hang a Big Papi statue right there, maybe a Manny Ramirez walk-off, not Derek Jeter, not our biggest rival,” said Justin Diamantopoulos.

“There’s no way Jeter should be anywhere around Fenway,” another fan said. “This is America!”

But some fans said they were OK with Jeter’s face floating in Fenway.

“He’s obviously a great baseball player, total class act. So I don’t have any issues with Derek Jeter. Maybe some other Yankees players, but not Derek Jeter,” said Chris Murzak. “He gets a get out of jail free card.”

The show begins on July 18.
