We know about the mild temps, but we’re also in for a couple of rounds of wet weather. The first round is already starting to work into the picture. For the day today, grab the rain-gear/umbrella because showers will become more widespread and consistent by mid-day and keep on keepin’ on through the afternoon. The good news though, is that this wet weather will be moving off-shore by the evening commute. This first round of showers will likely amount to between 0.3" to 0.5" for most. Highs this afternoon will be in the mid to upper 50s (about 20 degrees above normal)!
As skies clear a bit tonight, we’re also expecting for fog to form. This is something we’ll watch closely into tomorrow morning. If you’re one of those that likes to plan ahead at least 24 hours in advance, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get out of bed a few minutes earlier tomorrow to check the conditions. Fog will likely make for a slower commute on Wednesday.
Now, to that second round of wet weather for Wednesday: It looks like we have to wait until the afternoon for the rain to arrive. This round looks like it could take our rain totals (including Tuesday’s rain) up closer to an inch for most, with possibly even close to 2" for some isolated spots (watching the S. Coast for this). Bottom line: The weather stays mild and unsettled through the next few days, so make sure you aren’t caught in the rain without an umbrella!
Showers are done by the time we really get moving on Thursday morning. Expect mostly cloudy skies on Thursday and those record-breaking temps… and even a return of the "Frizz Factor!" It will be a little sticky, especially for December standards. Highs are expected to top out in the upper 60s to even 70° for some spots! If we get a little more sunshine than not, that will help with those temps to really soar. Santa called. He said he’s coming directly from Bermuda and he won’t be changing out of his shorts and flip-flops on the way!
Have a great day. – Breezy
