For those who survived the Orlando massacre, the road to recovery for some began with a walk down the hospital hallway.

A home video shows Tony Marrero walking for the first time since the brutal attack that killed 49 people and injured 53 others.

Marrero was shot in the back.

He described laying on the floor of the nightclub, trying to fool the gunman into thinking he was dead.

He remembered hearing an officer asking if anyone was alive, and somehow managed to push himself along the floor to an officer who pulled him to safety.

Marrero spent time in intensive care and has endured a lot of pain, but he said he never gave up.
