Authorities have charged a 30-year-old nanny with stealing more than $280,000 from her employer. 

Stephanie L. Fox, of Randolph, was arrested on Wednesday on three counts of bank fraud, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. 

For man than a year, Fox allegedly wrote fraudulent checks on the bank accounts of her employer, according to authorities. 

To avoid being caught, Fox destroyed bank statements when they were mailed to her employer’s home. 

Fox forged approximately 65 checks totaling $281,917 and used the money to buy jewelry as well as a diamond pendant necklace. She also bought three Movado watches along with trips to the Bahamas, Aruba, Hawaii, Newport and Cape Cod. 

Fox faces up to 30 years in person, five years of supervised release, a million $1 million fine and restitution.
