NASA astronauts Scott Kelly and Kjell Lindgren spent this Thanksgiving in orbit.

Like many Americans, they celebrated the holiday with turkey and football, but at zero gravity.

The Thanksgiving menu aboard the I.S.S. included turkey, candied yams, rehydrated corn, and potatoes au gratin.

The astronauts made sure to give thanks before their meal too.

"We just wanted to wish you a very warm and Happy Thanksgiving,” said Lindgren. “We are incredibly thankful for the opportunity to be up here on the International Space Station, working and living in the amazing orbiting laboratory.”

Lindgren will be back on Earth in a couple weeks, and Kelly will wrap up his year in space in about three months.
