Nashua police arrested two men for domestic violence charges this week. The alleged crimes were unrelated.

On Wednesday evening, police arrested 38-year-old Julio Vargas of Palm Street after responding to a report of a woman yelling for help.

The woman told police she was assaulted by Vargas. She suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center.

Vargas was charged with second degree assault – domestic violence, Class B felony and an alternate theory of second degree assault, Class B felony as well as domestic violence and simple assault, and Class A misdemeanors. 

Vargas is being held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections and will be arraigned in the 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District Division. 

On Thursday evening, police responded to a domestic complaint in the area of Central Street. 

They arrested 47-year-old Javier Suarez, after he allegedly threatened and assaulted his ex-wife with a knife. 

The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and declined medical treatment. 

Suarez was charged with second degree assault – domestic violence, second degree assault, and criminal threatening-domestic violence.

Suarez is also being held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections, and he will be arraigned in the 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District Division on November 30.
