Massachusetts driver’s licenses are getting a new look.
The Registry of Motor Vehicles unveiled the new driver’s licenses.
The IDs have been updated to add new security features and technology for identity theft protection.
The licenses are also Real-ID compliant, which will make it easier for Massachusetts residents to board planes and federal buildings.
The new IDs will be phased in over the next five years.
For the first time, everyone applying for a license will have to prove they are in the US legally.
