NEWTON, Conn. (WHDH) — Seven months after the Sandy Hook school shooting, business owners in the small town say business is recovering. The state of Connecticut has pledged $500,000 in economic grants to help Newtown recover.
"We're coming through it. Slowly but surely everyone is coming through it," said Marci Benitez business owner.
Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy went to a number of shops and restaurants in Sandy Hook center Thursday, where local business owners were grateful that the state has been able to help.
