For the first time, and NFL executive says there is a connection between playing football and the degenerative brain disease CTE.

The league’s senior VP for health and safety made the admission during a round table discussion with lawmakers in Washington.

He cited the studies that are being done at Boston University.

CTE, which can only be diagnosed after death, has been found in dozens of former players.
