HOOKSET, N.H. (WHDH) — Hooksett, New Hampshire Police have arrested and charged a man on domestic violence charges after reports of a “rolling domestic.”

Police received reports that a male driver was seen hitting a female passenger on West River Road in Hooksett.

Officers located the suspect vehicle on Riverside Drive, at a county store.

Police identified Raymond Smith, 23 of Andover, New Hampshire, as the driver.

According to police investigation, Smith and his girlfriend began arguing over a text message at the Regal Cinema in Hooksett.

When Smith’s girlfriend refused to get in the car, he picked her up and physically put her in the car.

Police say as the two were traveling on West River Road, Smith took his girlfriend’s phone and slapped her leg.

No medical attention was required.

Smith was arrested and charged with false imprisonment, two counts of domestic violence related simple assault and two counts of simple assault.

He was released on $6,000 personal recognizance bail and ordered to appear in court on Monday.
