NASHUA, N.H. (WHDH) — A man was arrested after attempting to steal a vehicle and getting held at gunpoint by the owner.
James Paul, 33, of Amherst, N.H. tried to steal a vehicle that belonged to Paul Jensen, 51, in the parking lot across from the Southern New Hampshire Regional Medical Center.
According to a press release from the Nashua Police Department, Jensen was in the vehicle at the time. Jensen displayed a handgun when Paul refused to leave. A witness contacted the police.
Jensen has a valid permit to carry in N.H. There were no shots fired and no one was injured.
Paul was charged with the attempted unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was held at the Nashua Police Department pending his arraignment Wednesday morning.
While being held, Paul ripped the sprinkler from his cell. He was then charged with the interference of a fire apparatus.
