CANTERBURY, N.H. (WHDH) - A Durham man died after crashing his car on I-93 South in Canterbury, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Police said troopers responded to I-93 southbound near Exit 17 for a report of a car that struck a tree on the left side of the road around 4:00 p.m. Saturday.

Troopers identified the driver as 24-year-old Gordon Borek of Durham.

Several witnesses said Borek was driving erratically before he drove off the road.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, but police said it appears alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

According to police, Borek was not wearing a seatbelt.

Police are asking anyone who has information regarding the crash to contact them at 603-271-1162.
