A crash took a tragic turn in New Hampshire as a woman who went off the road during Tuesday’s snow storm was hit and killed by another car.

Bill and Linda Dawe were overcome with grief on Thursday after losing their youngest child.

Lori Dawe, 31, of Derry, New Hampshire was driving home from work on Tuesday night during a snowstorm. As she was driving down a hill, her car skidded off the road.

According to police, Dawe got out of her car to call police for help.

While she was waiting for police, a vehicle came up behind her and slid in the same spot, striking and killing her.

Dawe worked with preschoolers at the Community Action Head Start program in Haverhill. Colleagues who stood near her desk on Thursday said she was passionate about helping children.

Bill Dawe, a retired firefighter who has seen many tragedies in his career said he and Linda appreciate the support they are getting from others.

"Lauren was very giving and very loving, always had a smile, and did so much for so many people," said Bill Dawe.
