Class Act:

Nicole Doucette and Katherine Veilleux, Catwalk4Cancer

Nominated by:

Nancy Doucette

Nomination Story:

I would like to nominate the above school group for their outstanding work and dedication to this “student-run fashion event that combines a love for fashion with an incredible cause, the Jimmy Fund/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute”. Over the course of the year the student executive committee meets weekly and co-ordinates with a volunteer group of students in sub-committees who handle promotions, decorations, ad campaigns, modeling and backstage.

These young adults put together an event from start to finish inclusive of blind auditions who are selected from the student body along with models from faculty, administration and staff.  They are running fund raisers, contacting businesses, handling outfits/looks, coordinating over 300 student and faculty volunteers, reaching out to speakers, everything from beginning to end to put on a show that is well thought out and moving.  They have meet with staff at Dana Farber as well. This past year was the largest and highest grossing Catwalk to date raising over $37,500 with over 1100 people in attendance; total raised in 7 years $232,500.+.
