CHELMSFORD, Mass. (WHDH) — A 9 year-old from Chelmsford set a national chess record.

Carissa Yip became the youngest person to be declared a chess expert since the U.S. Chess Federation began keeping electronic records in 1991.

The next step is "master."

According to the Lowell Sun, Carissa has three years to set the record for youngest American to reach that level.
