A budget officer for the Northborough-Southborough school district has been arraigned in connection with the theft of school funds. 

Christopher Hoey, 34 of Stow, was arraigned on charges that he stole more than $200,000 from the district’s accounts, including larceny over $250 by common scheme, embezzlement by a public official and uttering.

Police were contacted by Northborough-Southborough school superintendent Christine Johnson, who reported what appeared to be a theft of school funds.

He was held on $100,000 bail. 

He will appear in court on April 1. 

The case is under investigation.
