Two Northeastern University students who were killed in a car crash in Dubai last week will be honored with posthumous degrees.

Seniors Victoria McGrath and Priscilla Perez Torres were traveling on a personal trip together when the crash happened.

According to the university, both students were in good academic standing to graduate this coming May.

McGrath, a native of Weston, Connecticut, was a student in the D’Amore-McKim School of Business, where she was studying finance and international affairs. She was a member of the NU Business Advisory Club and executive director of marketing for the Finance and Investment Club.

She was also a survivor of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing.

Perez Torres, who came to Northeastern from Puerto Rico, was a biology major in the College of Science and worked as a clinical research coordinator at New England Baptist Hospital. She was also involved with GlobeMed, a student group that works with an HIV/AIDS nonprofit organization in Uganda.
