Well we knew it was coming as early as last week. We've faced down the rainy day and managed to take in a movie or go to the mall (if you're on vaca) or just grin and bear it if you were working.

Dispatching the rain has been a task this afternoon and evening. Heavy bouts have been clinging to Cape Cod & the Islands, waiting for a good push from the upper level winds. That should come later this evening as storms grumble through Western Mass. and fade out in Central Mass.

Air was soupy today. Dewpoints were as high as 70 or 72 at times! That's where we draw the line in the sand and call it tropical. Tomorrow, a little bit of drier air will work in and nudge that number down into the mid 60s. Thereafter, the numbers fall into the 50s on Thursday…still looking like my pick of the workweek.

With a little bit of energy in the upper atmosphere still around tomorrow, we could touch off a storm or a downpour – both brief – in the afternoon. Not worthy of cancelling plans over. This isn't a rainy day.

All in all, the pattern is very summery. Warm temperatures last into the weekend and it borders on downright hot by early next week…yes, complete with the humidity.
