Honolulu, Hawaii (NBC) — The Obama family is in Hawaii for their final vacation as the first family.
President Obama, the First Lady, and daughters Sasha and Malia landed in Honolulu around 3:45 a.m.
Greeting them at that early hour were Senator Brian Schatz, Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell and Pacific Commander, Admiral Harry Harris.
The Obama’s will vacation in Hawaii until January 2nd.
The only public event on the President’s schedule at this time is on December 27th when Mr. Obama hosts Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at Pearl Harbor.
This will be the first visit to Pearl Harbor by a leader of Japan since the attack 75 years ago.
