HOPKINTON, Mass. (WHDH) — Authorities believe someone threw a dog out of a moving car in Hopkinton after he was found badly injured on the side of the road.

The dog has a mangled paw and road rash all over his inner thigh.

“He was in so much pain,” said Liz Jefferis of the Baypath Humane Society in Hopkinton.

Two weeks ago the dog was found on the side of the road with only a Superman collar. Animal control brought the dog to Baypath Humane Society, where they worked to save him.

Now, the humane society is working to find a person who will give the dog a loving home.

“I think he’s awesome. I think he’s so — he’s been grateful right from the start,” said Jefferis.

The humane society has not found an owner for the dog, so he will be put up for adoption.
