City officials are gathering input on whether to provide Boston Police with body cameras.
Three community forums will be held this week to discuss a pilot program to experiment with the devices.
The first meeting was scheduled for Monday night in Roslindale.
The BPD plans to roll out a pilot program in the next couple of months to test the effectiveness of the cameras.
Supporters of the program hope the body cameras will help officers.
City officials say about $500,000 has been set aside in the budget for the program, and around a hundred officers would wear body cameras.
