LAWRENCE, MASS. (WHDH) - Police opened an arson investigation after a fire broke out at a packed nightclub in Lawrence on Sunday.
Officials said someone drove up to the back door of Club Attika on Mill Street, where a fire was lit. People inside said they smelled an accelerant and a flash could be seen on surveillance video.
The kitchen staff ran outside and put out the fire with an extinguisher. The club’s owner said more than 100 people were inside at the time.
Police believe the arsonist drove away in a gold Honda. Anyone with information is asked to contact Lawrence Police.
