Two girls finally got a chance to meet the 911 dispatcher who kept them calm while a thief robbed their home in Oklahoma.

It was a call dispatcher Barb Jones will never forget.

"I knew the second it dropped in it was going to be a big call," Jones said.

Together, terrified 14-year-old Andrea and 12-year-old Evelyn Gonzalez hid in the closet, as police said Preston Hayes ransacked their home.

"We were scared we were going to get killed by him," Evelyn said.

Jones tried to keep the girls calm throughout the call.

"You know in your heart they’re terrified,” Jones said. “You know they are, and you want to jump through the phone and be with them."

Jones whispered to the girls until officers arrived.

The girls’ bravery inspired Jones so much that she wanted to meet them in person. On Wednesday, she greeted the girls with flowers and gifts as they got off the bus.

"It was great because I finally met the person that kind of saved my life," Evelyn said.
