The head coach of the girls basketball team at Oliver Ames High School is set to make history.
Elaine Clement-Holbrook tied the state record Friday for all-time wins by a girls basketball coach with 633. The team’s next game is Tuesday evening.
Clement-Holbrook’s assistant coach and former player, Brittany Engle, said Clement-Holbrook deserves all the honors she has received.
"I’m seeing how much time she puts into the program," said Engle. "She truly dedicates her life to it."
Clement-Holbrook declined to talk to 7News before the game, saying she is superstitious.
