The Olympic torch arrived in Volgograd Monday, the Russian city that was the site of two terrorist bombings in December.

The bombers struck two days in a row, striking fear into the city and causing mounting concern about next month’s Olympics in Sochi.

During Monday’s run, the torch was carried to sites around the city, including down into an underground train and to a local ice skating rink.

The Olympic flame will arrive in Sochi next month for the opening ceremony on Feb. 7.
