ORANGE, MASS. (WHDH) - Two suspects accused in a fatal home invasion in Orange were brought back to Massachusetts Wednesday night after they were captured in Virginia over the weekend.

Joshua Hart, 23, and Brittany Smith, 27, arrived at the Orange Police Department just after 9 p.m. to be booked.

Police said Hart and Smith murdered 95-year-old Thomas Hardy and seriously injured his 77-year-old wife Joanna Fisher in a random home invasion last week. The suspects then allegedly stole the couple’s station wagon and drove off. They were found in Virginia over the weekend and arrested.

According to court records, Hart and Smith stole her great-grandmother’s car three days before the home invasion in Orange. Court records also said that Smith’s family members told police that she is addicted to heroin.

Smith and Hart are due in Massachusetts court Thursday on murder charges.
