Organizers of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in South Boston are set to file a lawsuit to restore the parade to its original route.

They want the city to return the parade to the full 3.2 mile route.

Earlier this month, Mayor Walsh cut it down to 1.4 miles.

Organizers say it will be difficult to fit all of the bands and floats in the smaller route.

The parade will be held Sunday.
