ORLANDO (WHDH) - A survivor of the Pulse shooting who grew up in Framingham met his hero–the police officer who saved him.
Angel Colon, who moved to Florida when he was in high school, had an extra special visitor at the hospital Thursday. Police Officer Omar Delgado came to his room, where the two embraced and spoke.
The officer reportedly pulled Colon out of the nightclub after he was shot. After being hospitalized, Colon said he was hoping he could meet the officer so he could thank him.
Both men got emotional during the touching moment.
“When he was dragging me out I could just look up and I was just like hurry, please hurry,” Colon said. “But now seeing him again, in a different environment, in a happy place, it’s awesome.”
Colon was critically injured and is one of dozens of Pulse survivors still recovering from their injuries.
“You only get one life and I am glad now he can be with his family and continue living his life, all because we all assisted him and getting him out as fast as we could,” said Delgado.
