Highs in the low to mid 70s? In early November? Yeah, I thought only a few select spots would climb near 70 today.
It seemed bombastic to go beyond that, especially after starting in the low to mid 30s this morning (hey, is the sun even out long enough to warm us that much these days?).
Needless to say, Mother Nature is overachieving. And her knack for turning the temperatures around on a dime will keep us on our toes in the coming week to ten days.
Little bit of a setback coming tomorrow. Not enough to bring us to normal (gasp, what’s that like?), but enough to keep us out of the 70s. Onshore winds will cool us a bit along the coast, and slowly move inland throughout the afternoon.
Then it’s back to the warmth for Thursday as a warm front passes through early in the day. You may notice the humidity slowly ramping up through Thursday and Friday, warming the overnight low temperatures and feeding a few showers Thursday night in the process.
Friday could be a record-setter. Vulnerable high temperatures of 73 in Boston and 70 in Worcester seem ripe for the taking as sun and a gusty southwest winds again boost us to the mid 70s. Dewpoints should also get a lift, rising to the low 60s ahead of a sharp cool front.
This same front will bring us back to Earth over the weekend…almost making it feel like we’re three weeks away from Thanksgiving.
