Palindrome forecast? Yeah, you know – it reads the same backward and forward: 44, 55, 65, 55, 44. That’s about what Saturday through Wednesday look like, and luckily right now we’re on the side of the roller coaster hump that’s very exciting; tick, tick, tick… up we go!! The warm up started today, and even though Boston is gearing up for Christmas with “Blink” kicking off tonight, it feels more like autumn than winter. Oh yeah, and it’s worth saying it AGAIN; we make it into the 60s on Monday! The sixties!!
Don’t everyone pack the beach bag and sunscreen all at once though, because we’re in for a wet start to Monday. The good news is, it looks like the rain isn’t going to last all day and we could even see the sunshine. The bad news is, the wet weather faucet turns on just in time to slow down the Monday morning commute. But wait! There’s more! The “more” good news is that this is the mildest day of the week, so we are not looking for any snow or ice. Rain amounts on Monday morning could be between 0.50″ – 0.75″. By the afternoon, sunshine could even make an appearance.
Maybe the gradually warming temperatures weren’t too noticeable on Sunday. If you felt a little cheated with the news of a warm up, you’re not alone. With the breezy to windy conditions sticking around, we do have to factor in a wind chill. So yes, we did make it up to 44 for a high today, but it still felt like it was in the 30s. It’ll get better.
Okay, back to my palindrome (because it’s the title of this blog, I need to bring it up again): Our forecast temps to start the week read the same backward as they do forward, which also means “what goes up, must come down.” We peak with the milder temps on Monday but then drop right back down below normal for Thanksgiving.
Now – into Thanksgiving. I know many have been asking about a possible snow storm arriving just in time for turkey (which would be about as unwelcome as Cousin Eddie in “Christmas Vacation”). Someone sent me a tweet tonight that said, “good thing you are one of those few who don’t mention a snowstorm till the day before. lmao.” Yeah, well – there’s still so much uncertainty when it comes to the storm moving in on Wednesday. Some forecast models are piling on the snow, but other models say “nada.” So, I say “the jury is still out.” Don’t scramble to the store for the bread and milk just yet… just grab the turkey, potatoes and cranberry. Our Thanksgiving leftovers will last wellinto the weekend regardless of how this “storm” turns out. I will say though, for Wednesday’s travel plans it looks like just rain until possibly changing to snow very late as the temperatures drop. Stay tuned!
