An emergency personnel member who was in the midst of teaching a class by a nearby river saved a child from the raging waters – and caught the whole thing on camera.

According to the Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services Facebook page, Special Operations Commander Craig Smith was training a group on Swiftwater Awareness when he noticed a boy who had fallen off his inner tube. The boy was struggling to stay above the water.

Smith, who was wearing a GoPro camera during the training session, rescued the boy and brought him to dry land, where he was reunited with his parents.
