NORTH STONINGTON, Conn. (AP) — One person died and another was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash on a Connecticut highway.

State police say the motorcycle driven by 46-year-old Cesar Negron, of New Haven, struck a wire rope guardrail shortly before 7:30 Sunday night on the southbound side of Interstate 95 in North Stonington.

A passenger on the motorcycle, 48-year-old Cynthia Oliveras, also from New Haven, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Negron was taken to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
