Filming for "Patriots Day," a movie based on the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings, continued in Somerville on Friday, One Boston Day.
The cast and crew took a moment to remember those who lost their lives.
Friday’s shoot was done at the former home of MIT Police Officer Sean Collier.
Officer Collier was killed before the shootout with the Tsarnaev brothers four days after the Marathon bombings.
Curtis Street in Somerville was turned into a movie set, with director Peter Berg calling the shots on the third anniversary of the attacks.
Producers said the scenes shot on Friday will highlight Collier’s character.
The film stars Mark Wahlberg as a Boston police officer tracking down the Tsarnaev brothers.
In a scene shot with several takes, the actor who plays Collier hangs out with two friends on his front porch. They stop a couple of young women walking by, one wearing a Tufts University shirt.
An interior scene featured the actor, whose name has not been announced by CBS Films, in an MIT Police uniform.
Officer Collier was shot on the MIT campus as he sat in his cruiser.
He loved Somerville and planned to become a Somerville police officer.
