A Rhode Island Patriots fan who will soon lose her eyesight got the biggest birthday surprise when she got to see her team Saturday.
Jeri Schey, 42, suffers from a hereditary condition that will cause her to go blind. She said the tickets, a birthday gift from her twin sister Heather, could not have come at a better time.
"Because of my vision impairment, it just means so much because I don’t ever know when the last game I’ll ever be able to see will be," said Schey.
Schey, whose favorite player is quarterback Tom Brady, said she has not been to Gillette Stadium in a few years and getting to take in the atmosphere instead of watching the game on TV was amazing.
"This is very special, I was glad to do it for her," said Heather Schey.
