FOXBORO, MASS. (WHDH) - The New England Patriots have officially listed Jimmy Garoppolo as “doubtful” on the team’s injury report prior to Thursday night’s game against the Houston Texans.

Garoppolo hurt his shoulder in the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins after throwing three touchdowns in the game. The Patriots won the game, but Garoppolo’s injury forced him to miss the rest of the game.

Rookie Jacoby Brissett, drafted in the third round by the Patriots in this April’s NFL Draft, finished the game in Garoppolo’s absence.

Garoppolo has played admirably in place of Tom Brady, serving a four-game suspension following the Deflategate saga, but his injury leaves little doubt as to who will start Thursday’s game.

Garoppolo was limited in practice both Tuesday and Wednesday.

In other injury news, Dont’a Hightower, Eric Rowe, Jonathan Cooper, Trey Flowers, Rob Gronkowski, and Jonathan Freeny are all listed as questionable.

For the Texans, Duane Brown, Brian Cushing, and Braxton Miller are all listed as out.
