Peabody police are investigating several reports of car break-ins that occurred Friday and Saturday.
According to police, officers responded to the Peabody YMCA on Lynnfield Street for a reported car break-in. The suspect(s) gained entrance through the car window.
On Saturday, officers received reports of car break-ins at Workout World and Latitide Sports Club on Newbury Street. A total of 11 cars were broken into.
Several pocketbooks containing personal items were reported stolen.
Police are urging the community to take extra precautions when securing belongings, and they recommend storing them in the trunk.
