Pedestrian hit by car in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. (WHDH) - State Police say a pedestrian has been hit by a car in Cambridge.

The incident happened in the area of Memorial Drive and Magazine Street around 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, according to State Police. The road has been shut down in both directions.

State Police say the female pedestrian was transported to Beth Israel Hospital. She suffered life threatening injuries.

The driver did stop and is cooperating with officials. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
