BOSTON (WHDH) - Boston police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a car in East Boston early Wednesday morning.

Paramedics responding to Route 1A around 2 a.m. transported one person from the scene, Boston EMS said.

The victim’s name has not been made public.

It’s not clear if the driver of the car that hit the pedestrian was injured.

Route 1A southbound at Curtis Street was temporarily closed.

No additional information was immediately available.

An investigation is ongoing.
