Revenues at Massachusetts’s first casino are on an upswing.
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission reported Tuesday that Plainridge Park Casino pulled in $12.5 million in gross revenues from its slot machines in January.
That’s up from about $11.3 million in December. The slots parlor and harness racing track has seen a steady decline in monthly revenues since opening in late June. Its peak was in July, when it posted $18.1 million in gross gambling revenues.
State revenue figures show the January tally was the highest since October when the casino reported a $12.9 million haul.
Lance George, the casino’s general manager, says the facility is going through revenue "ebbs and flows" and will need time to become more predictable.
Massachusetts collects 49 percent of all gambling revenues from the facility.
