PLYMOUTH, MASS. (WHDH) - A Plymouth man has been indicted on charges that he possessed and disseminated more than 1,100 images of child pornography on his computer, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz announced.

Eric Watson, 25, of Plymouth was indicted by a Plymouth County Grand Jury Friday on one count each of dissemination of child pornography and possession of child pornography.

Watson’s indictment followed a several months-long investigation by the Massachusetts State Police Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

In March, the State Police task force reported it had located a computer IP address that was sharing files via a computer program, and they believed the files being shared contained images and videos of child pornography.

State police received a search warrant to search a home in Plymouth for evidence associated with the investigation, and arrested Watson at the home. They seized the home computer, a Motorola 3G Smartphone and an iPad.

As part of the investigation, forensic examiners determined more than 1,100 digital files depicting child pornography had been downloaded from a computer connected to the IP address on Watson’s computer.

Watson will be arraigned in Plymouth Superior Court at a later date.
