WARWICK, R.I. (AP) — State police say one of the two people injured when their vehicle crashed on Interstate 95 in Warwick has died.
Police say the victims were in an SUV driven off the road by another vehicle that then drove from the scene at about 8 p.m. Sunday.
The SUV hit a guardrail and rolled over, ejecting the driver onto the roadway.
The male driver and female passenger were taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where the driver later died.
The passenger was seriously injured with several broken bones.
Police are searching for the other vehicle and the crash remains under investigation.
