HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) — Authorities say a 64-year-old Connecticut woman has drowned in her family’s swimming pool.
Police said Thursday when they arrived at the Hamden home at about 4 p.m. Wednesday fire department were already trying to resuscitate the woman.
She was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital, where she died a short time later.
Her name wasn’t made public.
Police say the victim’s husband found her face down in the pool and immediately jumped in to the water in an effort to keep her head above water. A neighbor also rushed to the scene to assist.
No additional information was released.
