HARWICH, MASS. (WHDH) - Harwich Police have arrested a man as the result of an ongoing investigation.

Daniel Cook, 25 of Harwich, was arrested just before 6 p.m. on Friday.

Officers pulled over the vehicle owned and operated by Cook.

The vehicle was stopped on Route 124.

According to police, Cook attempted to flee on foot from the stop.

Cook was apprehended in the middle of Route 124 and continued to attempt to get away from officers.

He kicked a detective in the head during his attempts.

Officers found 155 grams of heroin on Cook when he was stopped.

Additionally, officers found 10 grams of heroin and approximately $12,000 when they searched his house.

Cook was arrested and taken to Harwich Police Department.

He has been charged with trafficking in heroin 100 to 200 grams, resisting arrest and assault and battery on a police officer.
