STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) — Police have arrested a man who they say stole $33,000 worth of new computers from a Connecticut hospital.
The Stamford Advocate reports that 23-year-old Joseph Allende was arraigned Monday on charges of burglary and larceny.
Police arrested Allende Feb. 21 after he walked by police headquarters while wearing the exact same clothes that the suspect was wearing in hospital security tapes.
Officials at Stamford Hospital say 27 laptop computers and 12 mini computers were stolen from the hospital in early February.
Police Lt. Tom Scanlon says the computers were unused and had no patient information on them.
Allende had previously worked at the hospital as a contractor.
He is due back in court April 8.
No defense attorney was listed in court records.
