Two suspects in multi-state car chase to be arraigned

WORCESTER (WHDH) - The two suspects who carjacked multiple vehicles, stabbed a victim and led police on a car chase will be arraigned in court on Monday.

State Police arrested two suspects, a male and a female, in connection with a carjacking and pursuit last Thursday in Worcester. One of those suspects, Christopher Harding, 21 of Dayville, Connecticut, is under arrest for charges in connection to the chase.

According to the Massachusetts State Police, troopers located a vehicle being sought by Connecticut State Police in connection with a carjacking. Police said two suspects carjacked a vehicle in Putnam, Connecticut before crashing that vehicle in Thompson, Connecticut.

The suspects then allegedly carjacked a Nissan Rogue, stabbing two occupants of the vehicle before driving away. One of the victims reportedly suffered serious injuries.

One of the victims says she was just over the border in Connecticut with her mother when she was flagged down by the suspects who had crashed a car. The suspects then attacked.

Barbie McCoy, a 6th-degree black belt, was able to fight off her attacker, but not before receiving multiple stab wounds, one to the head.

State Police said they attempted to stop the vehicle on Route 395 but the car sped away.

The vehicle was pursued into Auburn, where police said the car in question tried to intentionally strike or ram the troopers’ cruisers. Police said the vehicle continued into Worcester, attempting to turn around in a cul-de-sac when it struck a cruiser and another car on Papagin Terrace.
