BOSTON (WHDH) - Boston police arrested two teenagers for their alleged involvement in an armed robbery in Dorchester Saturday.

According to police, officers responded to a radio call for a robbery in progress on Sydney Street shortly before 5:30 p.m.

When police arrived, officers were told two men approached the victim from behind as he entered his car. The suspects then pulled out a knife and demanded the victim’s cell phone and wallet.

The suspects also ordered the victim to empty his glove box and center console.

Officers in the area saw two boys fitting the suspects’ descriptions near Crescent Avenue. As the officers approached, the suspects took off running in opposite directions.

After a brief pursuit on foot, police were able to apprehend both individuals, who were later positively identified as the armed robbery suspects.

Police arrested both individuals, a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, both from Dorchester.

They were charged with delinquent to wit, armed robbery, and breaking and entering a motor vehicle.

Police found the victim’s stolen items in the 15-year-old’s pocket. He was then charged with delinquent to wit; receiving/concealing stolen property.
