PEMBROKE, MA (WHDH) - Police say they have arrested a man in connection with a chase and crash in Pembroke.

Officials say a Pembroke officer saw a vehicle in traffic with a registration plate issue. The officer attempted to pull over the car, but the driver drove away, running a red light and striking another car.

The car continued without stopping but eventually crashed into the rear of another car.

The car’s driver left the scene on foot but was captured by police in the woods and arrested.

The driver was identified as Claudio Araujo, 28 of Brockton. Araujo has been charged with failure to stop, driving to endanger, driving with a suspended license, leaving the scene, improper display of plate, and improperly attaching of plates. He will be arraigned in Plymouth District Court.

The driver of the third vehicle was injured and transported to the hospital.
