Police: 6 arrested after disruption of event at CambridgeSide Galleria

CAMBRIDGE (WHDH) - Police arrested six juveniles at the CambridgeSide Galleria after a large crowd gathered for a special appearance at one of the stores allegedly got out of hand.

Police said Celtics player Jaylen Brown and rapper Desiigner were supposed to appear at the Champs Sports store at 5:30 p.m. A crowd of more than 1,000 people gathered for the event and witnesses said the crowd got a little out of hand. One man waiting in line said people started cramming in and trying to push open the doors before it began.

Stores were ordered to close as police evacuated the mall. Police said some of the people at the mall were exposed to pepper spray, which was used to keep the crowd under control.

The six people arrested were charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
